家庭用ビデオカメラから回収された映像。Lee家の屋根裏部屋の内部と思われる。日付の特定は不可能。

特別収容プロトコル: SCP-2740の性質に起因し、いかなる直接的な収容方法も現時点では実行不可能です。インディアナ州█████、██通り████ █への接近を禁止し、財団の保安職員によってこれを施行します。デルタ-4B”ガス漏れ”のカバーストーリーをインディアナ州█████において流布します。

SCP-2740に割り当てられた全職員は標準的認識災害オブジェクト記憶処理措置の利用が可能です。

説明: SCP-2740の性質、外見、また潜在的存在はいずれも未確認です。SCP-2740はインディアナ州█████、██通り████ █のLee一家自宅、屋根裏部屋の入り口である梯子から約6m先の北西の角に恐らく存在していると考えられています。

屋根裏部屋に続く梯子に接近を試みた人物はその行動が不可能であると認識します。この梯子への接近、または特定のケースにおいてこの梯子を登り始めることに成功したとしても、調査を進めた結果、そうした人物が例外なく実際には接近できていなかった事実が判明しました。原因は現時点で不明です。加えて、この現象が実際に存在しているかも未確認です。これに関しての研究が進行中です。

事件ログ2740-A: Lee夫妻とその実子、SCP-2740の影響を受けた近隣住民など、SCP-2740の存在を確信しながらその他の詳細に関しては認識が曖昧な人々にインタビューを行った後、有人・無人両方の手段を用い、屋根裏部屋へ侵入する試みが複数回行われました。全てのケースにおいて、関係した職員やその主張に関わらず一切の試みが実際には行われていなかった事実が追加調査で判明しました。

これらの試みは屋根裏部屋へ続く二階梯子への直接的接触、二階天井部各所への成形爆弾の設置、無人機による梯子開口部への接近、屋根を切断しての人間または無人械での接近、家屋の完全解体などを含む内容でした。上述の通り、以上の方法が実際に試みられた記録は一切存在していません。
