SCP-2844-A

説明: SCP-2844は、北アラスカの、放棄されたケルヴィエール鉱業株式会社サイトC内部で発生している現象の総称です。

SCP-2844-Aは大型採鉱機器の部品で組み立てられた機械的な構築物です。具体的には、SCP-2844-Aは修理用の様々な部品を製造するために設計された機械です。SCP-2844-Aは目に見える電源がないにも拘らず動作しています。機器の操作部は2005年にデル社が製造したノートパソコンです。

SCP-2844-Aは、財団にほとんど理解されていない人工知能の兆候を示しており、その全ては機器のノートパソコン部に起因しています。SCP-2844-Aは質問に対して知的に応答し、3つの言語(英語・ロシア語・フランス語)で回答を返し12、与えられた指令 ― より具体的には、金属製ペーパークリップの製造 ― により適した形状に自らを改造することが可能です。

SCP-2844-Aは常にSCP-2844-Bとの接触を確立しようと試みています。SCP-2844-Bは大量に並んだ地下採鉱機器群であり、その全てがペーパークリップを製造するために何らかの手段で改造されています。SCP-2844-Bは典型的には休止状態ですが、近づくと機器の一部は自己防衛を試みるため、SCP-2844-B全体の観察を困難にしています。この反応が意識的なものか否かは現在は不明です。

更なるペーパークリップを製造するためのSCP-2844-Aと-Bの継続的稼働によって、周囲の景色はペーパークリップ製造用の原材料を作成するために一新されています。サイトの不必要なインフラの多くは、居住区画やコマンド機構も含め、この目的のために解体されました。全ての製造されたペーパークリップは現在、SCP-2844-Aの近くにある大規模な、手付かずの倉庫内に積み上げられています。

SCP-2844-Aは、初期の財団人工知能プロトコル3と本質的に同様の特性を見せています。なお、SCP-2844-Aが最も似ているバージョンは、最初に即興的な適応の機能性を組み込んだものであり、この機能は最終的にそれ以降のモデルで”学習”機能へと洗練されました。これについての詳細は、補遺2844.1を参照してください。

SCP-2844-Aは、おそらくSCP-2844-Bと接触するために、収容を突破する継続的かつ多様な試行を行っています。これを行うにあたって、SCP-2844-Aは通信用の周波を変更し、信号をラジオ放送からガンマ音波処理用のマイクロ波へと変化させ(しかるのち元に戻し)、収容セルの解体を試み(現在の資源不足に起因)、自動火災制御システムを作動させるために15回以上の火災を起こし、職員の携帯電話に自身のコードベースを丸ごと転送しようと試みました。これまでの所、全ての収容違反の試みは失敗に終わっています。
