SCP-6817は、1人以上のレベル3研究員が同行するという条件の下で、施設内を自由に歩き回ることが許可されています。手話によるSCP-6817とのコミュニケーションの試みは固く禁じられています。

説明: SCP-6817は人間の声を聞くことができない女性の人型実体です。これには、対面での発声、録音、生放送が含まれますが、これらに限定されません。 SCP-6817は茂みのざわめき、動物の鳴き声、音楽など、他の形態の音を完全に聞くことが可能です。 SCP-6817が聞くことができる唯一の人間の声は、自身の声のみです。1

正式にはエステル・コムウェルとして知られているSCP-6817は、主任研究員であるアニー・コムウェル博士の娘です。 SCP-6817は、人間の声を聞く能力を失った2017年1月2日2まで、異常な特性を示していませんでした。正確に何が異常性を誘発したかは不明です。

アニー・コムウェル博士は、SCP-6817がメニエール病に罹患しているという考えの下、SCP-6817を財団の管理に持ち込みました。しかし、SCP-6817が認識した単語はすべて「編集」されているように見えるという発見により、SCP-6817の異常性が認識されました。

タイプ入力または書き上げられた単語はSCP-6817によって認識されることができず、代わりに「単語があるべき場所に黒いバーが配置されている」ため、現在のところSCP-6817とのコミュニケーションは不可能です。

SCP-6817は黒いバーが文字の上に存在すると主張しているため、点字もまた効果がないことが証明されています。 SCP-6817が点字を読むために指を当てようと試みる時、異常に穴が埋まるか沈み込み、表面が完全に平坦になり判読不能になります。

補遺6817.01: SCP-6817との意思疎通のために手話を使用する試みは中止されており、これ以上追求されるべきではありません。

これまでに手話によって行われた実験では合計5人の財団職員が骨折し、アニー・コムウェル博士は橈骨、尺骨、複数の手根骨を3回以上骨折しました。

補遺6817.02: SCP-6817はセル内にて1人で歌うことに慣れてきました。また、施設内を歩き回ることが許可され、他人の前にいるにもかかわらず、うつ病、パニック発作、および長期の独房監禁に似たその他の症状の軽度の兆候が見られます。
